For the past 33 years, we have been giving legal advice and negotiating and pleading cases in observance of the essential values of our profession: independence, expertise and loyalty.
For the most part, we practise business law in its various dimensions. This enables us to maintain personalized relations with our clients, who have been showing their confidence in us since the foundation of our association and even before. History

Founded in late 1976 by Jean-Pierre van Cutsem and Pierre-Paul Wittamer, the firm originally consisted of two partners and several associates. In May 1977, with the arrival of René- François Piret, the firm changed its name to "van CUTSEM WITTAMER PIRET".

On 1 January 1989, Patrick Marnef, who had gained all his professional experience with the firm since 1978, was elected to the partnership.
Likewise, Jan Cuypers became a partner in 1996, having joined the firm in 1989. Patrice Courtin was then recruited as a partner in 1996, followed by Pierre Beyens in 1998.
Katrien Serrien, Bernard Dautricourt, Olivier d’Ursel and Bertrand Wittamer were admitted to the partnership between 2001 and 2004.

In late 2007, Damien De Keyser joined our team, right before the latest stage of our expansion process, dating back to 1 January 2008, which was marked by the arrival of 2 new partners: Eric Louis and Laurent Tainmont.
These latest developments are in line with our firm’s determination to constantly progress towards providing highly specialised services to meet our clients’ needs.
Our firm, henceforth known as: “van CUTSEM WITTAMER MARNEF and PARTNERS” is currently composed of 13 partners and over 20 associates and trainees, as well as a dozen employees.

The client is assured of a direct and regular contact with the partner or associate in charge of their case. Where necessary, the partner and associate concerned turn to fellow partners or associates for specialised input.
With the same goal of providing a comprehensive and optimal service to our clients, we maintain close ties with leading law firms operating in more than 60 countries on five continents.
